Leaving aside the delicious treats of "Hog For You Baby" and "Oh Boy", this show featured what has to be considered by discerning Dead-ophiles, the Finest "Midnight Hour" of all time! Certainly from the Pigpen era at the very least; though I doubt Bobby ever matched its piercing intensity. Pigpen was absolutely in top form, tossing out a drunken philosophical nugget, from 6:26 - 6:31, that I've taken as something of a life lesson:
"Ain't no way to get around it, over, through; you gotta get in it, you gotta DO."
Meanwhile Jerry, Bobby and Billy were in crazy synch with Pigpen in that jame
Seriously, the nugget of grace and wisdom Pigpen dropped at 6:26 makes this the greatest Mignight Hour ever in my book!
